    Default Anyone heard....

The rumors I keep hearing of a good school of Silvers that may have just moved up into Cowee Creek? I have heard it a couple times now but have not made the trip out to see yet. Have not seen ANYONE out at Peterson Creek as of late.

    Default yup

I heard the same rumor about a week ago, fresh fish with sea lice on them, I never went out to verify the claim. Last weekend I went up montana and found one old silver and that was it. I've heard of people fishing Cowee as late as Nov. before.

see any bluebacks (SRCs) around peterson lately? Its about the time of year that the fish are hitting their wintering holes...

Anyway the last thing I need is a reason to ignore hunting and go fishing... Must resist!
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

I'm still picking up good silvers (6 on a slow day, 37 in 6 hours was the high day) off Pt. Arden, Dody Cove and up the channel by DuPont... wouldn't be surprised if the rumors were true. Juneau cohos run Sept/Oct, and with the "late" runs we've had this year, November isn't out of the question for quality fishing! If you're fighting the hunting addiction, bring a rod AND a gun and go hunt Gambier Bay in the AM and fish silvers in the afternoon...
