It"s a flemish twist, dacron, on longbows, fast flight on compounds, if there being replaced any make of the same stuff that they had on them that I can get my hands on. Bill

Hello Alaskan Gray! I'll be pleased to explain how to make a bow string but I don't think my english writing is good enough for that.
There is a French forum where I'm a moderator and where I write under the pseudo of "upnorth". I send you few links where, if you suscribe, you will be abble to see how. After that, if you are interested, I can try to explain if you want to ?

I don't know how to make a compound string.

    Default Need another choice

I couldn't vote in your awesome poll, because I order strings from "Bucknasty" on Archerytalk.
His strings are fully equal to Winners Choice strings, but cost $60/set (incl shipping) rather than $95. Also you get to pick colors.
Could you add "Other" as an option in your poll?

    Hello,
I know I'm new and this is my first post but I have Bucknasty strings also and they are great strings. My peep hasn't turned yet and I've put a lot of arrows thru my bow. Absolutely no stretch.

    Default just my thoughts

    Gary,

There are several guys at black sheep that make strings, Marcus Doerry always made mine, I am sure if you asked that he would teach if he had the time, Bernard P left the area I think, but if he is still there I know he could show you, I would also check with Scott F, remember that the club has the string making jigs. I just had a set built by crackers for my Hoyt ProElite--wow is all I can say about the wall.

also build my own, d97 or b50 depending on the bow. If you need to learn a flemish twist I can teach ya easy enough. Or I can get you to a video to learn.

I make my own b50 flemish strings for my recurves and flat bows. And untill last year shot the string my Bowtech came with. I nicked it with a broadhead, cant believe I did that. So I replaced it with a winners choice and so far it has been just as good as the factory bowstring, maby better.

I have the last set of GAS Stings on my bows that I had stockpiled, since the company got sold and is B2 Bowstrings, I'll try them when I get back. If the quality of B2 is the same as the GAS strings I stay with them, the GAS strings were cheaper price and I never had stretch or turning issues. And they seemed to never wear out, only changed them out of my own paranoia and habits.
