    Default New Rifle

Any thoughts on the following rifle. I have a chance to get a good deal on a new rifle and scope. Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker 26 inch barrel in the 300 win mag. The scope is a Leupold 4.5-14x50mm long range side focus.
Here is my next question. As to deer hunting what grain and bult type would you recommend? SAME question for elk and bear.

Well these questions should get some good and wide answers. Will be looking forward to reading them.

Sorry the scope model is a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50mm long range with side focus.

Jump on that rifle, it's absolutely wonderful; I have one just like it.

(For deer, I use my 7 mag, but) for elk/moose I use 180 grain Federal Premium Nosler Partition.

    Thumbs up

I also have one and love it. It (I) shoots 180 N.P. the best so I use them. I have a zeiss scope on mine. It is a great gun.

I have one with the BOSS set-up. Great rifle, the BOSS is a pain but once I got it set... it hasn't moved! I hand load 225 grn N.P. for this gun as it just loves them. I too have a Leupold on mine. Great set-up.

I've used Nosler Ballistic Tips and Sierra Game Kings both 165gr for whitetails for years load them over 77 gr. Reloader 22 and they run just over 3200fps 10ft from the muzzle, shoot 180gr. Accubonds for elk and 200 gr. Nosler Partitions for moose and bear, very versitile gun you will like it.
