    Thumbs up

If you have access to an ATV, Knik river/Jim creek is usually productive for rabbits and a fair amount of grouse. Even if you don't have a wheeler, you can walk from the parking lot and beat the brush to find birds. I have killed many right along the main trail from the parking lot to Jim creek. Rabbits are around, but if you can get a few miles up the Knik you will do better.

go down Knik goose bay road. Take left at the end, Take your second right, then take your next left and go down aboout 1/2 mile and hunt the old log piles that were cut down many years ago and put into rows. take a buddy and each of you walk down each side of the row.
