Default Couple of questions on late season bears..

I found 2 blackies today feeding on berries on the hillside. The berries were so ripe that they popped if you even tried picking them. Of course they were on the sides off the hills with no snow. How long will they stay on these berries? If an inch or two of snow falls and covers the berries will they still nose around and try to find them? If so how deep does the snow have to be to deter them from this? Will they continue to feed and hang out lower on the hills as the snowline moves down? Finally what finally pushes them to den up? I know evry situation and area is different but I was trying to find out if there are some basics for this time of year so I can stretch this out another week or two. I won't get back up there until next weekend and the weekend after so I was trying to figure out if there was a good possibility that they would keep hanging out in that area and what type of areas they might move to if they do (den, lower on the hills, valleys, etc?.

Has any one seen any black bears around cantwell in the last few days? I just want to know if they are still out and about this late up there.

I haven't seen a mature bear down here in Juneau or any fresh sign for like 3 weeks now, so I'd say you don't have too long.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
