Must be nice. How long does it take you towing your boat?

"Must be nice. How long does it take you towing your boat?"

I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet but in 3 months I'll be retired so it doesn't matter! I'll only make the drive once, I'm leaving the boat there so that in the future we can just fly down and use it.

    Unhappy The End!

Man I hate to say this but the boat is getting winterized this weekend. I had planned on one more trip up the Little Noatak to our camp so my son and I could chase 1 more caribou but the weather in Kotz has turned ****ty! I expect to see ice on the fresh water sloughs and this is the end, my only friend, the end! (Jim Morrison)

Had a great season and I hope that all of you did to but its time for safety to take over!

yep, I put it away!! winterized and all. Then found a nice warm garage to store it in!! 'course it's only a 20' boat, so it would fit in alot of garages.

And here I sit waiting for the ice to play ice breaker not as much fun as the ice in the spring but still fun.

I can break the new ice to about 3 inches thick, nothing like sitting on the water and watching the ice form, it starts with a little tiny spot, and then takes off in growth in just a few hours it will be over a third of the lake.

    Default Weather permitting...

Well made it out Sun and returned Monday. Weather was brutal, blowing 25-30 in Passage yesterday with 3 fter's. All the bays were glass calm though. No bears or deers in sight. It was a cold night, we wke up to ice in the cove.

    Default The Chena is frozen

I woke up yesterday, looked out the window, and there was just shore ice. I got home last night and there is ice all the way across the Chena. I waded out, and the shore ice was almost thick enough to hold me, and the water is too shallow to launch either of the boats off of my launch.
Ran to the Tanana and Chena Pump Campground this morning just hoping it was still clear. No such luck. Lots of pan ice floating downriver, and lots of shore ice in the shallows and slow water.
So I am done. Well, that is I am done until next weekends late season, ice busting, snow covered, duck hunt. There were ducks in front of the house until night before last, so all I have to do is find where they are still hanging out.
