    Default Juneau fishing

Just wondering how the Juneau crowd has been doing as of late. I finally have a couple days off coming up to fish. I managed 1 little halibut last week but it's tapering off for sure. I also tried Kowee but it was so flooded, and muddy I just left after a few minutes. Ive been told the silvers are just getting started. Is that true? Seems late. Should I be out in my boat trolling, or on montana or kowee for silvers? Soggy, Monkey, Onelung? Any of you been out lately?

I havent done the fishing thing in a while.....I know they are still catching them at DIPAC....but everything else seems to be tapering off...

You might try the wetlands on a low tide....Head out around 9 Mile creek on N. Douglas, thats the easiest access....Last time I was out on the flatts duck hunting on low tide Silvers were jumping all over the place and there was a bunch of people fly fishing for em...

did good at peterson yesterday 12 silvers (not silver any more at all) 4 rainbows and a dolly (on dries I might add)
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Stocked....Happened a few years back....I've every once in a while caught some around that size as well....but with bait fishing in there and family fishing day the lake gets fished out pretty good..

    Default It's not too late

Well for anyone that might be lamenting the end of our salmon season, I went out for a quick fish on Sunday and caught 4 in about a half hour. This was the only one that was bright enough to keep. But it was still a lot of fun.

    Default Secret?

The decorations in the trees say that it's not so secret anymore. This was my last trip now it's time for ducks and deer. We need to get out and blast something. When does your boat come up?

I was just decorating those alders for x-mas...

Gonna blast some more ducks tomarrow. You got the day off? Might try for deer this weekend, but the weather forecast said it might be blow on sunday....so it might be more duckin.

It's still going to be a while before I can't get my boat up here...I'm going to try and track down a trailer for it when we go down to WA & OR next week. What's up with that boat in your driveway?

Duck count so far = 74 birds between two guys. should be more but scott is a bad shot.

Watch out for snow geese on the flats....there was a flock of em out there last week. Never seen them in juneau before. Had one fly right infront of me on the way out & I thought it was a swan....didn't shoot...darn. Saw one guy get one though.

Duck sausage is good too. I mix in 1/2 duck, 1/2 deer & a bunch of bacon. yum.

I would be careful about that duck recipe from Onelung unless you want to be farting all day long. I am speaking from recent experience. It tastes really good though.
