    Default First moose

3rd year hunting for moose, 1st year not getting skunked. Hunted hard for 1 1/2 weeks, saw lots of non-legal moose. Moved to another area and this guy wandered 75 yards from the trail I was on (nowhere near where I planned to hunt that day). 3x4 brow tines, 52" and mighty tasty.

    Default My First Moose

Measured 54" taken in 20b. That was one unforgetable trip.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "HOLY **** WHAT A RIDE!!!"

Default Spring/Fall 2007 Grizzly Bears, Fall 2007 Moose.

So we gotta start over? Allright. The animals are from Unit 22.
First is the spring bear. Solo hunt, Grizzly killed at his den. Bear is 7'4'' and skull was 22''. Rifle was .300 Weatherby Mark V and a 200 grain Nosler did the hurt.

Next is the fall bear my 15 year old killed last week during the moose hunt.
Kill a moose, gotta kill a bear to even things out. The moose will thank you later.
Bear is 7'8'' and skull is 23''. Rifle was .308 Winchester in a Model 99 Savage and a 180 grain bullet did the hurt at 35 yards.

Next is the Moose my son killed while skipping school last week. He can stay late this week.
Bull is 61 inches, score is 219 B&C today, we'll see in 90 days. Same .308 Winchester/ Savage Model 99 at 250-270 yards or so.

Allways fun to take the kid out. Keeps me grinning.

    DM 797 Moose.

Shot mine at about 80 yards, 375 H&H with 300gr Barnes TSX
My 7mo pregnant wife shot hers at about 70 yards, 90 seconds after I shot mine with a 300RUM and a 200gr Barnes TSX. The little one, who is 4, wanted to shoot one too!
There were 3 bulls and about 5 more cows within 100yards after both of these were down!
