Default Bull moose with cows and calves

I am not sure but thought it was pretty unusual to see a bull moose with a cow that had calves?? The last couple of days I have seen 2 or 3 bulls following around cows with 1 to 2 year old calves. I did not think the bulls would hang around in these circumstances? I am completely off base or is this unusual?

I've never heard of it...but I'd be glad to take care of the "problem" if you tell me where the bulls are hanging out!!!

    Default your off base

Some cows are in heat now - most will be very shortly.
the bulls follow the cows. the calves follow the cows. the cow might split from the calf for a short time, but will hook up again to spend the winter together.
The bulls only tolerate the calves for the same reason they tolerate the cows.
don't worry it only lasts for about a month.
