Default When do rabbits turn white around here?

Just wondering when do the rabbits (hares) turn white in the Mat Su Valley. I have heard its a function of daylight- when do the days get short enough for them to start turning? Thanks-WW

The 2 rabbits that I saw yesterday while grouse hunting had white feet and ears and the rest still grey ...cute little critters.

Thanks for the help guys. So as "global warming" makes that first snow later and later, will the bunnies adapt before its too late? lol WW

Probably not. I mean, last year was 3/100ths of a degree warmer than usual and it caught us all by surprise... accidentally wore a coat when I shouldn't have!
