Default Come help out with a trail Cleanup

Fall AK ATV Club Cleanup will be Sat. Sept 15th at Sutton
We will be starting at 10 AM, working out of the area just south of Slipper Lake and cleaning up the trails throughout the area.
We will furnish the bags and pickups to bring them to the transfer site. When we are done the Club will have a BBQ for everyone who helps out.
This area isnít heavily trashed so it will be more riding than picking, and a good chance to check out the area. Bring the family and friends and have a good day!
Go north on the Glenn Hwy from Palmer about 10 miles to Sutton. Just after you cross Eska Creek, turn left on Jonesville Rd. There will be a gravel road going left where the tar ends, once past that Ė take the next left to come out along Slipper Lake, we will be at the far end of the lake.
If you have any questions or suggestions email us at info@alaskaatvclub.org or call 230-5442!

There is a faster way off the mountain, might hurt a little though.

    Default lake

Is this in the big parking lot at Jonesville? Should we bring a meat wagon to haul trash, or just the ATVs?

Default Dragging a trailer would let you ...

take some of the longer trails without filling up your racks with full bags. It is hard to explain how you ran straight into that tree... "You couldn't see over the bags of trash on your ATV rack?!?!?!" That one would probably make it into the Insurance industries "book" :-)
If we have the people it would be nice to run from Sutton to Buffalo Mine Rd, we could have trucks at each end but a trailer would make it a more productive trip for sure.

Great to see people getting together to improve our land!

Unfortunately I have to work this weekend. I was there with my kids for the Spring cleanup at Jim Creek, and just wanted to say that I really appreciate the club's efforts.

As usual, I read about the clean up the day after it happend!

I rode yesterday and would have gone to Sutton had I read the site earlier. How did it go?

I don't think they had the turn out the club was hoping for, however, there were a bunch of folks helping out. I meet a lady there that lives in Sutton and thanked her for allowing us to use her community to play in.

We had 4 ATV's loaded with trash and took them up to Mike. When we got there Friday night, our little camp cleaned up a bunch of trash. (We also packed 3 bags out we collected) Next time, I try to find a larger section of old, wet, rotted carpet to bring to Mike

Default If it is a heavier chunk of carpet...

You can drag it all the way to the transfer station!
Rockhound and I had a heck of a time getting it into the bin!
The area, excepting the gravel pit by Jonesville Road was actually pretty clean. We took out three pickup loads and a dab all told, a pretty good day.
We had 18-19 people helping out, pretty good considering the weather. We keep the Fall cleanup low-key and really work the Spring Jim Creek Cleanup. I think I kept this one a tough to low key!
Thanks for coming out to Larry and Dave and any others on this board!
