    Question Glennallen Lodging / Hotel

We're passing thru Glennallen heading toward Delta, and was hoping to get a few suggestions on where to stay for 1 night. Nothing fancy just a couple of beds and a shower. Thanks for the help.

    The Caribou Inn.

There are a several B&B's in the area too. I'd inquire at the Hub gas station

    Riverview B&B 822-3321
A few miles up the Tok cutoff, but very nice folks. Alongside the Copper River.

    Caribou Hotel 822-3302
    Nice, but probably tourist rates.

    Copper Center Lodge 822-3245
Out of the way, but nice folks and good food.

    Gakona Lodge 822-3482
2 miles up the Tok cutoff right next to the Gakona River and across the highway from the Copper River. Next door is the Trappers Den Tavern.

I know I'm missing a couple B&B's. These are what I can think of right now.

    Default NO! Not the Caribou!

The last couple times I was at the Caribou, I wasn't happy with it at all. In fact, the last time I stayed there, I put a t-shirt on the pillow, I put the bed spread on the floor to walk on, and I used my sleeping bag. This waas after requesting another room (and being denied because I already pulled the blankets back)

By about 3 am, I decided to head to Valdez and stay at the Totem Inn.

If you can get into a B&B, do it!

We had a great stay at Gakona Lodge. Not far from Glennallen. "Trip Advisor" has great reviews on this old lodge.

A bit closer to Delta you've got Black Rapids Lodge. First rate.

I second Black Rapids Lodge, they have some good food too, and the Northern Lights can be fantastic there, as well as the wind.

And the food went terribly downhill too! Nasty!

You could take a side trip and go to Lake Louise and stay at one of the lodges too.
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

Meier's Lake Roadhouse at mile 169 Richardson. Often have work crews filling the place, though.
Paxson Inn & Lodge mile 185 at junction Denali Hwy. Some people find it a step down from even the Caribou, though.
Denali Highway Cabins mile 185.5? Mostly tourists in summer, but winter rates a lot lower.
Water's Edge Cottages mile 191. Lee is a great guy.
Black Rapids Roadhouse mile 22X. Very spendy, beautiful interior.
