Thread: Where to fish near Palmer now?

Default Where to fish near Palmer now?

Going up to the fair this weekend again since my in laws run the crazy fair hair booth but I've been up a couple of times already and want to get out and fish instead. I recently moved up here so I don't know all the best spots yet.

Any suggestions on where to fish? I'll take anything, rainbow, salmon, pike... Just want to get out and explore more of this great country while I can.

Jim Creek for silvers if you can stand the rednecks...
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

according to the AOJ field report it says it has a late run through October. I think I might try that if I can borrow my buddies truck.

    Default Jim Creek

I stopped into Jim Creek a couple of days ago (no I'm not a redneck), the water is waaay down and I only saw one roll. I know that they're in there until October but it sucks right now. I wouldn't waste the time IMHO.

    Tight lines,

    Default Jim Creek

I wouldn't waste my time there. I have been fishing jim creek since the middle of july. It is has been painfully slow lately. The fish that are there have lockjaw and are turning fairly red. I have heard the little Su right off the parks highway has been decent recently.
