I work with a guy that has a 5 year old grandson. When the boy was 2 he had him shooting BB guns and grouse with a .22 by the time he was 3. He has had him shooting a .243 Win. that has a bipod on it so the kid can go prone. His wife takes the little guy out the other morning for a moose hunt since grandpa was working nights and sleeping. They get about 45 yards away from a small bull. The kid can't go prone because of the brush so grandma manages to rest the bipod on her knee to gain some elevation for the little guy. The boy puts the .243 slug through the moose's heart. When he called grandpa to wake him up it was "grandpa, I got a moose"! I can hardly wait for my grandkids to get a little older.

    Awesome! That's TOO cool...
My son took his first caribou when he was 7 with a .243 and man I'll tell ya, it don't get any better then that. Now he's 18 and he's taken deer, elk and black bears. He love's it and now he takes his friends hunting! I get stoked hearing HIS stories and seeing HIS pictures... What a feeling... Pass it on!!!
