    Default targeting halibut

when does everyone think that halibut go deep? i am going to go out of whittier over the labor day weekend and am curious to see what you all think as far as targeting depth for this time of the year. same with ling cod, the fish and game reports state that ling cod have moved deep already and the halibut are soon to follow. last weekend there were still good numbers of pinks in the sound and at the creek mouths with the abundant food source i would still think that the halibut are cruising the shallows.

    Default Still there

Ran into lots of halibut in about 100' of water just past Seldovia. Chickens, but that's what I target. Couldn't keep the bait on the bottom more than a couple minutes. Lotsa fun.
