    Default Moose pic

I bought some old blue S&W pistol boxes from a guy in Topeka, Kansas on Auctionarms.com a couple years ago and called him and he said he was stationed (military) in Alaska years ago and he sent me this pic and said it was his son. I scanned the pic but the color got a little funky in the transition. Anybody got a different story on it??

It has been around a lot. Cabelas has the pic inside most of its catalogs.

    Default Kilbuck Mtns?

I had seen posts (I think on this Forum's predecessor) a few years back thinking it was killed in the Kilbuck Mountains.

First time I saw it, someone said it came from somewhere in Russia. Since then, it's moved a bit; Yukon, interior, SouthCentral, Kenai...

Heck, I got no idea where it came from or who the guy is.

Doubt it's been around as much as Ted Winnen's brown bear though--probably ain't ate as many folks either.

    but...DANG, that's a big bull!!!!

    Hee, hee thats funny

Man, what a beast. It matters not where the critter was taken IMO, it is a magnificent animal, and, as long as it ws taken legally and ethically, the guy in that photo should be one proud SOB who is the envy of lots of folks. I sure hope that bulls brother is hiding in a alder thicket waiting for me to get there on Sept 16.
