I am looking to get a new .22 Mag revolver. I like the feel of the Bearcat, but it is only .22LR. Does anyone have suggestion on one in roughly the same scale. I grew up shooting the single six in 22 Mag, but I like the size of the bearcat. I am firmly in the market for a revolver. I want it for the plinking and have a 22LR, so I want the mag, as you can never have enough variance in life. A side note would be that a friend is trying to talk me into the 17 instead. Any thoughts on the 17 vs the 22 mag?
I bought a SS Taurus .22 mag a few years ago. It is DA and I believe the barrel is 6 inches long. It is one of the more accurate Taurus handguns I have owned and I am very happy with it.
I have never owned a .17 handgun so I can't comment on them.
Do they still make the Ruger convertible Single Six? I have had one since I was a teenager (my teacher gave it to me, where have those days gone?) 22mag with the option to shoot the much cheaper 22lr....Louis
