    Default Talkeetna- HURRICANE TURN TRAIN

I'm interested in taking the Flag-Stop train and stopping to hike/camp/and fish. Has anyone done this? I'm looking for information on whether there are any decent camping spots near good fishing locations. Thanks.

It's a beautiful area. The Indian River has kings running it.

I'll bet the trout fishing in late fall at feeder creek mouths is outstanding.

Try the twin bridges area around mile 269. Good rainbows up in that area.

Last years flood has changed alot of those creeks that dump inot the Big Su in that area. The high water deposited alot of rock and rubble at the confluence of these creeks effectively blocking off passage between the Big Su and the feeder creeks for fish to move freely between them. The creeks are still there, but they flow through the rock debris piled up at the mouth effectively blocking any salmon from moving up in them. Don't know how it will affect the rainbow fishing fishing though.
