    Unhappy SE Plane Crash

My daughter works for a local flight service this summer and she just received word 45 minutes ago a plane just went down at Traitors Cove, just north of Ketchikan.

No word yet on conditions, will try to update as we learn more.

    Pray for families involved.

    Default crash

From what my daughter told me she heard on the scanner and from what I heard on the VHF CH 21a it was SeaWind (steve) in a Beaver. 4 injured were medivaced to Ketchikan and are in the hospital.

I just heard the US Coast Guard Rescue Helo touchdown for fuel in Ketchikan to return to base (Juneau).

This is not any way official.

    Our thoughts and prayers .....

Initial response is family of 6, trail guide and pilot on board. They believe no fatalities but injuries involved. Trail guide-she is family friend and her dad is with her in hospital asking for prayer.

    Unhappy crash

I'm really not sure if it was Steve or not or his aircraft. I hope not.

I also heard it was an Otter.

Like always the first reports are 'sketchy'.

    Thoughts and prayers.

I was out hunting while all this was going on. Steve is a good friend. Our prayers are with him and the passengers. I have been on some wild rides with Steve he is a top notch pilot. From what I can gather the crash site is about 4 miles from my house. I was going to hunt traitors but I went the other way to shrimp bay. It was gusting real hard from the west around that time. I wonder where he was coming from? I didn't see him go over. All I saw around that time was one of pro-mech's Otters.

total of 8 on plane one must have been a small child. Steve only has seats for 7 counting him.

Ketchikan Daily News made same statement this morning except listed 9 on-board the Beaver and had crashed into a tree. Three persons were being medivacced.

    Thumbs up Survivor Update

Good news on the daughter of our friend--Sarah is back in town from the burn center in Seattle. She is doing very well, many prayers have been answered. She was in church this morning and shared for a few minutes what's been happening in her healing. She looks good, most burns were covered by long sleeves and pants with the worst burns being on her arms. They are healing, slow, but healing. As of now she won't need any grafts. She'll return to Seattle in about a week for further check ups.

We've had no info on the other survivors.

    Praise God!

all those links refer to "clifford S Kamm" which I'm assuming is Steve Kamm, the pilot/owner of SeaWind Aviation?

I flew with him just once, soon after he bought that beaver in 2005; very unfortunate to hear about this...please post if you learn anything about the pilot's condition. I read something that his injury was initially serious.

    Default Steve Kamm

I do know it is serious and that he is still in the burn unit, but don't know his progress.

last i heard Steve was healing well he needed some surgery on his right hand and at that time the doctors said he would not need any more grafts or surgery.
