    Arrow PWS/USCG Weather radio

The USCG is asking for comment on the need to continue the weather radio broadcasts in the Sound. I for one always check the forcasts and coastal reports the check out what the winds and seas are doing. If you want them to continue you should reply at the following link. Replies are required by August 24.

Do they provide weather info in any other format besides HF?

    Default VHF

I get my weather info on my regular VHF. I suppose there are a couple old-school boats with HF and tele-type machines, but I won't miss it.

I want to be sure I understand this right. Our marine VHF radio can also pick up the weather channels (1-6) - this is still VHF right? On the link given in the first post, the website talks about the need to continue HF and a couple other methods. I take this to mean that they are not considering taking down the "normal" broadcasts that many of us listen to.
