Default Sheep/Moose East of Tok Cutoff

Planning a sheep/moose hunt off the Tok Cutoff to the East in unit 12. Just wondering what kind of access there is up Trail Cr or the Little Tok and if anyone has been into that area before (have all the sheep run to the TMA for a little peace and quite?). Looking to get in a good 7-8 miles, any info on the general area would be really appreciated.

Moose numbers are generally low in Unit 12 and there is a ton of pressure on the sheep that are road accessible.

    Default Popular & Private

The area is popular and lots of it is private lands. You will have company on the public land and up Trail Cr. Athna/Mentasta own some of the land boardering the highway & surrounding the Little Tok and further east you run into the Tetlin Reservation all of which do not allow trespass with out a permit not even to just travel through.

As Chisana said moose populations are low and yes there is a ton of pressure on the sheep. Looks good on a map but there are better places to go.

    John,

Thanks for mentioning the land ownership issue. I wasn't even going to get into that because it is so frustrating.

Even with all the problems, the north Wrangells/Mentastas are my favorite part of the state.
