Question My First RV Trip - comments/advice

I am presently locked and loaded for my first RV/fishing trip to AK next week. I am just looking for advice/comments. I am provisioning on 8/15 and heading to Seward. I plan on stopping at Bird creek on the way and maybe drive up to Resurrection Creek but I may not have time for that. I am staying at Miller's landing on 8/15 and 8/16 and chartering for Halibut and Salmon with Crackerjack on 8/16. I am heading to mile 16 on the Kenai on Friday 8/17 to stay with friends there. I will be traveling to Homer on 8/19 to stay at Homer Spit campground and charter on 8/20 with Silver Fox. I will be heading back to Anchorage after that to catch a plane on 8/23 and have not made specific plans on the way back. As everything I read indicates that Silvers are in at many places I will be mostly targeting them for this trip.

Any suggestions on fishing the Kenai this time of year? I read the confluence of the Moose and the Kenai was good. How about the Ninilchik and Kasilof?

    Default Silvers

bass47 - I sugest you hit the Russian river for Silvers and Sockeye. Sockeye I think close on 8/20. Well worth the stop. Also on your way to or from Homer fish the Nanilchik and the Anchor rivers for Silvers. If the fish are there it will be the highlight of your trip. Have a great trip!!!

    Smile Milers

When you are at Millers take the Van to town.We did the same thing last month. We fish with Crackerjack Charters. My wife like the idea of not getting up at 5am and driving the RV to town to let me off.It is $5.00 r\t and you call them for pickup after fishing.
    Good Luck

    Default Mile Post

Get a copy of the Mile Post. There are many creeks along the way that hold graying. Have fun and remember little orage flags along side the road means "SLOW DOWN" alot!

LOL, that is so true. Especially if your mom is sleeping on the rear bed when you hit one of them frost heaves at 55 mph. She broke my bed

    Default Thanks

I want to thank everyone for their comments. I did not know about the shuttle at Millers. My wife is joining me but that way I will not have to disconnect.

I have the milepost and also had bought the latest Roadside angler that was mentioned in a recent post of new books. It is really nice - all in color and easy to use.
