    Default salmon derby oops

This happened in juneau during the salmon derby last weekend. It was a rental boat and the lady driving, a local, floored it in the harbor and ran it up on the dock.

I heard about that... I heard it was a 24 footer, but I didn't know it was a rental. I wonder if she got her deposit back???

You’d expect some float sag or more damage to the dock, makes you wonder if someone did a little picture editing.

I don't know, but it looks like the tie under the stern has collapsed, and I can see the shadow (or reflection) of the bow in the water.

I had a friend who was there minutes after it happened and his pictures look the same - just from a different angle. The same sort of thing happened to a charter operator over in Sitka earlier this year. He came in and landed his aluminum rig at the end of the day and climbed out to tie the boat up. A "helpful" client decided to jump out of the boat to help Dan out and accidentally hit the outside shift and throttle when he cleared the side of the boat. It jumped up on the float and narrowly missed hitting Dan's wife who was sitting on the bow of the boat across the dock. Scarey stuff!
