    The article said he and his party were moose hunting? Someone please educate me. Are moose really in season on August 6 somewhere in Alaska? Bow or subsistence?

    Yes there are moose seasons that opened on the 1st of Aug. most are subsistance hunts.

    I'll be darned. Sounds miserable. It's 98 degrees and humid in Indiana today.

    Lots of bears along the timberline throughout the area all the way down the Nulato Hills.
    The emphasis is on accuracy, not power!
