    Thumbs up 40 Mile Caribou...

Two part thread here gentlemen...I am looking for someone to ride in with on the afternoon of the 9th as all the twisting of arms of all the guys I know have come to no avail. I will be heading back to Fairbanks on the night of the 12th. I am just looking for at a minimum someone to ride in with if not socialize with while out there...If someone is willing to head back Sunday, we can split gas...

Now the second half of the thread...Anyone heard anything as of late about the herd? I have been calling the hotline daily and it is still the May recording...I know no one really knows how it's going to be until the season opens, but I love the feeling that things SEEM to be in our favor rather than not. Makes me have a warm fuzzy...can't wait to just get out there and enjoy the outdoors...and if chance makes it...the cherry on top would be a bou...

Good luck to everyone and be safe...

    Post As of late...

I called the Tok office and asked when they might be updating the hotline and was told they will be doing a fly over on Monday and that it should be updated that afternoon. I guess as filler until then, I'd love to see some of your pics of bou taken on the 40 mile hunt. I am greatful I get this excited for every hunt I go on...feels like the anticipation of my first Elk hunt in Arizona when I was a wee lad...

    Here ya go Chris,

Here is a photo of the 40 Mile Bou I got last year on my float. The wife and I fly out with 40 mile on the 20th going after her first Bou. Good luck to all and be safe.

Nice one! I've only shot a cow and a small meat bull. Maybe this year?!?!
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and donít have one, youíll probably never need one again
