    Default Substitute for Thermarest HotBond

    Hello all,

I'm looking for an alternative to Thermarest's Hotbond adhesive. I've got extra patches, but the glue at 3 patches for $10 is too steep.

I live in the desert SouthWest and thorns are a part of life, so I've got a few patches.

Any thoughts? I've wondered about a hot glue gun? Any thoughts?

Perhaps aquaseal? Works great on waders. Might be worth a try.
Spending my kids' inheritance with them, one adventure at a time.

Have you try E6000 or a tire glue?

    Default Scabs

Go to a bike shop and get these no glue tire patches called scabs (pick 'em and stick 'em). They are colored purple and about the size of a quarter. they have become a regular part of my equipment and work surprisingly well. My latest successful fix with them was a platypus water bottle that I punctured. Should work great on a therma rest.
