    Default berries around Talkeetna

We'll be up around the Caswell Lake area (south of Talkeetna) the weekend after next. Anybody know if blue- or other berries will be ripe for picking in that area by then? Anyone care to share some near-road general locations that would be good to take a 3 year-old to?

    Default not quite yet

Things aren't quite ripe up here yet except some watermelon berries. It will be a few weeks yet, or so I'm told....

Caswell Creek and Sheep Creek drainages between Willow and Talkeetna both had ample crops of northern red currants last weekend. The kids and I picked a bunch of 'em for jelly (turned out great!) when the fishing was slow (as it was the entire time!)...
