Default Cooper area should be good/? seward from shore or boat?

Looking at the lower Kenai, Cooper should be very good this weekend. Take the Kenai sonar counts and add 7-10 days. Only problem is these late run fish turn color earlier-so you might have to catch more to find keepers. July 27th had 60K counted!

From shore Seward silvers have a few weeks to go. By grapevine only, boat fishing is heating up.

When the salmon enter the fresh water of the river after having lived in the salt water they are silver colored (chromers) as they get close to spawning the fish drastically change colors Sockeyes (reds) become very red with green heads. The meat in the fish who have changed color is very pale and unpalatable. It is obvious which are "good" and "bad" fish so you will have no trouble keeping the right fish. Enjoy your trip.
