The Kaliakh is along the Gulf Coast, just east of Katalla, near the Tsiu. Flows out of the Robinson Mountains. Don't know anything about floating it. Reports of good silver fishing and rainbows. Weather sucks.

"what do you mean by the weather sucks"

I'm just guessing DPHILLIPS means, but Gulf Coast weather is often cool, wet and windy. Adding "Fall" to the word picture just compounds the issues. None of that should stop you, but it should encourage you to plan accordingly. Good tents, tarps, boots, rain gear and fleece, along with several days of extra food & fuel in the very likely case you get weathered in.

    Default Kaliahk

I've never floated it, but I've hunted along the Kaliahk, Duktoth, and Tsiu rivers. If your floating it to the the ocean, beach the raft before you get too close to the sand beach and scope it out. Those rivers usually turn and run parrallel to the ocean for a while but can change at the mouths quickly and I know of someone who ended up out to sea because the river punched straight out to the ocean since they had been there the last time. The "weather sucks" that is for sure, sideways rained is likely. TONS OF BROWN BEARS!!! Choose your haul outs carefully and keep a clean camp (as well as having a weapon and knowing how to use it).

It is awesome country, wish I could come with!!!!
