Default Check out my "webbing" paint job.......

Well I finally got my order of webbing paint from Joann Fabrics this week and had some time so................I painted her up!

This is my Remmy 700 MTN Guide in .308 Win. I didnt like the "all-black" look and wanted something a little different.I think it turned out nice.Painted with Krylon Fusion OD Green,Black Webbing paint and 2 coats of Krylon Matte clear coat.It was my first time doing the "webbing" but I have painted and camo'd about 50 other stocks.Just always thought the "webbing" was cool and I finally found some online.I was deciding between Tan or the OD Green,I think I made the right choice for the hunting this rifle will see.Maybe the .25-06 will get the Tan & Black webbing since it will be used out west. (Wyoming & Colorado)

    Tell me what you think.

Looks really nice. Where did you get the web paint? I might try that with my remington 700 270. I really don't like the black stock either.

Too answer some questions,I got the "webbing" paint from Joann Fabrics. If they dont have in the store they can order you some.It comes in 4 colors-Black,White,Silver and Gold.It is very easy to use,but messy.I compare it too the "Silly String" that they outlawed a few yaers back.I just layed the stock on the ground on top of a cut open cardboard box and painted each side seperately.

The OD green is the Krylon Camo paint, specially made for camoing stuff out.It is very dull with no shine at all.I sprayed it on first, while it was still tacky I sprayed on the webbing (so they bonded and dried together) and then sprayed 2 coats of Krylon "Satin" clear coat on top of that.Pretty easy to do,but takes about a whole day to do.

    Default Nice job

Very nice job!! You'd better not lean that up against a tree to go wee wee or you might not find it again, LOL. I gave my son a 25-06 for Christmas a few years back but he's not the least interested in shooting or hunting so I've been thinking about confiscating it from him until he wants it back. What do you use yours for?

I shoot the 110gr Nosler Accubond out of it for deer and antelope and the 85gr Ballistic tips for coyotes and other little stuff.I use Varget for the powder.Get great results for both bullets.I plan on handing it down to my son in the next year or 2 to learn on (he is 5 right now).I will tame the loads down a little for him though.

    looks good.

let us know how well it holds up to use.

mine usually needs redoing in the grip area and the bottom of the forearm the most.
