Has anybody heard anything? Did they do a test pot survey this year?

They did a trawl survey, numbers look good. They upped the limit to 5 per day per person. Also, you can fish two pots now. I've averaged 75-100 crab per pull on one pot the last two years, so two pots should be interesting.

October 1 through December 31, 2019, and January 15 through March 15, 2020. Participants harvesting crab are allowed two pots per person and a maximum of two pots per vessel. The bag and possession limit is five legal sized male Tanner crabs per person in Kachemak Bay.

Tanners are always a good option.

Absolutely. Them darn deer are what keep me from getting to homer sooner.

This first weekend of the upcoming season in Kbay looks a little breezy. I may not be tough enough to go this weekend. I know the wife won't want to go. 20 knots and 5' seas on Fri and Saturday.

I went and set my pots today. The wind was absolutely ripping and Cook Inlet was savage, but K-bay was pretty nice.

Went down this last weekend. The usual spots out in the Bay drew blanks. Talked to others at the dock and the same. Had a couple guys run up on us at different times as we were pulling just to see what we had in our pots. We tried deeper and then shallower. We baited very heavy. Not sure where they are. Anybody else have luck????

I've blanked almost every time except the one time I got about 100 dungees. But this is nothing new for me...

Speaking of dungees, does anybody think we'll ever be able to catch them in the inlet ever again? I sure miss those days....

Do you guys have otters? We are buried with them here in N SE. About the only Dungey fishing left is near a couple Native communities who very wisely keep them under control. Sad to see but I believe they’ll starve out at the rate they’re going. Used to be able to get a half dozen crab off our moorings with a 12hr soak. It was automatic. Now absolutely nothing. Hasn’t been a commercial pot set locally in 10 years...we had 2 processors here before...Glacier Bay closure took care of that.

I have a rifle that was used to hunt seals in PWS years ago by a Native man. Remington .222 with a 4 power scope. It's a little rusty. Has a real cool hand made sling on it. Still shoots. Maybe it should be put back in action.

What should the diameter of the pot opening be? I’m welding one up now and made the top 13”. Looks small but I’m unsure
