    Default Cut back cuke plants?

I have cuke plants that are going crazy indoors in 3-4!gallon pots. They ARE setting SOME fruits but they have dozens and dozens of flowers. Iím doing the paintbrush thing to try to keep up. One plant in particular is sending out runners a LOOONNNNG way. Should I cut some back? Kind of like topping tomatoe plants at the end of the season to send more energy to fewer fruits? Or just keep watering and feeding?

I prune suckers from cukes & tomatoes.
My theory is bigger better fruit & less crowded .

I lower the tomato vines down , remove
some lower leaves. It takes less energy to
get water & nutrients to the growing tops.
    Late season now , I only leave 2 - 3 blooms
    form fruit.
