Thumbs up Step Daughter First Alaska Trip

My step daughter came up last week and spent a week with us. She is from Missouri. We took her and her boyfriend out on PWS. We saw whales, porpoises and such. Took them out to Blackstone and look at the ice and gathered some for the fish cooler.

Took them over to Main bay where they hooked into some reds. Butt fishing sucked but that is fishing. Lots of pictures taken. They went home with glacier ice and a cooler full of reds!

She found out quickly that her herbal bug spray doesn't work here. By the end of the trip she was wearing 100% deet! She was wondering about special sun tan lotion because Alaska was closer to the sun than Missouri and the risk of skin cancer! The great Alaskan liquid sunshine put an end to that! LOL

All said and done they had a better time than most on the huge cruise ship we say and a new found love for the great Alaskan wilderness.

But why do you say Alaska is closer to the sun then Missouri?

That is what my step-daughter thought about Alaska! We all laughed and I told her I would show her my igloo.
