Default Rossi R92 trigger return spring screw substitution

It's #34 in the exploded drawing. Short version, long story, I opened mine and the head was already half broken off that screw.

Removing the screw so I could polish up the spring, a bit more broke off.

    Rossi sells no parts.

I ended up drilling and tapping to 8-32. I found a bolt at the blue home store with a thin enough head to clear the hammer strut and hammer spring. It looks very much like a "Chicago Screw" like I see on handgun holsters regularly. Hammer is at full danger mode in picture.

I did have to spend some time filing the diameter of the screw head for it to fit down in #32 the lower tang. As pictured I still have to trim to length so the lever can close the bolt when the rifle is assembled.

    Good luck.

Have you checked Brownell's or https://www.gunpartscorp.com/? I've had good luck with Numrich finding some parts I needed in the past.

Also stevesgunz. He has lots of M92 stuff and experience. Sounds like you’ve dealt with it though, good work!
