    Default pike fishing

Any reports on ice fishing Figure 8 or other fly in pike lakes? Thanks!

Here is a reply to my own question. We flew out to Figure 8 yesterday, March 4th, and there is about 10-12 inches of snow on the lake. Ice about 30 inches. Fished 3 hours and caught 2 pike.

If I were flying I would be fishing lakes that are a little more remote. Figure 8 is one of the first choices for anyone with a snowmachine or atv. There seem to always be fish available, but its highly pressured. I have seen it there where there are almost no fish in one spot, and 200 yards away its crazy. Anything on Alexander Creek or up around Skwentna has a better chance at big fish, and numbers can be there too. I've also put up really big numbers at Trapper, though usually pretty small. It gets a lot of pressure, too, but it is a big lake.
