Might head up there in a week or two, still need to put a few more filets in the freezer! Might even boil a burbot out there, always one of my favorite jigging snacks.

with the amount of fishing pressure that we are talking about, we all will be saying good luck and make make sure you have a alternative snack with you.

Burbot fishing has been crazy good this year for sure. I caught 30 during the day jigging. There is not a shortage of burbot for sure

Hunter1951 thanks for your concern. The information you are getting is all
False. 2-10 clients in a week. CW is not slow, never has been. Louise is always slow this time of year. Susitna is also slow.

I've was out at CW this weekend and I thought is was slow for burbot and lakers. I've been out there 5 times this year and haven't really gotten into the burbot yet. If you have any words of wisdom shoot me a PM. My buddy has a cabin on the lake.

Yeah and just like how he was using treble hooks on crosswinds to catch whitefish.

Well it appears the fish are safe from any tournies this year. Just saw a
Post on social media from the lodge that it is cancelled due to the quickly deteriorating ice conditions.

Yes, that's 3 times the cancellation has been posted today. I was asking if anyone knew how many people had signed up to participate.

That's great news. Hopefully, they'll take the hint and not ever try this again. Sounds like maybe it's been a little bit of a hassle for them trying to get it started. I'm sure it's a huge disappointment for them to have to cancel after all the controversy.

why are you so pro tournament on non stocked fish?

you seem to be one of the only ones on here not worried about it?

Its fairly bothersome when i see all these photos of people up there holding fish by bear hugging them great CnR practice boys...

Not that I am for or against at all. One I was not planning on fishing this one and two I would not be worried about this hurting this fishery. I would of liked to see how many people were actually going to fish this. My opinion is this would of not have drawn a huge crowd and it would most likely of been people that typically fish the lake anyways. Also being catch and release the rules they had in place the mortality rate would of been low. If we are so scared of this fishery being hurt then there needs to be some changes to the regs. Barb less, no trailer hooks, no bait, catch and release only, one line no matter what species fished for ext..... Not trying to be the black sheep here, just my thoughts.

I wouldn't worry about it kcrew. Some people aren't worth the time arguing with. He doesn't need convincing bud. I doubt he's even familiar with the fishery or even has anything to do with it.

    Straight from the lodge

Due to current weather conditions and safety concerns on being able to complete all scheduled tournament days.

This year's tournament is going to be postponed until next year.
