    Default Shooting beaver

Beaver season is open year round in some units and well into spring in others. Even early in fall. I have shot beaver with 22s, 22 mag, 17 hmr, and once with a 30-06 (never again). Curious on your thoughts and especially if 22mag or 17 hmr is the better of the 2.

I prefer the 22 mag damage is no more or less but feel like I gain a bit more kill power with the weight of the 22 mag bullet. I see a lot of guys preferring the mag over the HMR on coyotes and your talking 50-60 pounds on a big beaver and thats more then most coyotes weigh
meats meat don't knock it till you try it
