    Default Engine problem

Sat my Port motor shut off while running. After inspecting it and letting it cool down. It started right up. But when I got it up to 4000rpm it would drop down to 13 then up to 23 and so one. It felt like it was misfiring but the plugs were in good shape. So I called Dewey's and I will take it in on 10 of Aug. Chad thinks he knows what it might be so that is good. And he says if it is it's a quick fix. lets hope whatever it is it's covered under warranty!!!

Sounds like fuel starvation. Blockage somewhere.

That is what one guy said. I hope it's a simple fix. What would cause this to come on?

    Default Air Leak?

Did you try manually priming the fuel line on the water and did that help?

Check the fuel line leading to the engine with the problem for leaks using a vacuum tester. Small leaks can let just enough air into the system to cause problems at higher RPMs like you describe, yet run fine at lower RPM. Fuel leaks are hard to find since the majority of most boat fuel systems operate under vacuum. A collapsed fuel line would also cause starvation.
