    Default Noisy $$ rain gear!

In my search for a mid-thigh/knee length, high quality rain jacket, I settled on the new Kodiak jacket by Sitka. I love the many features of the jacket, but was quiet surprised at how noisy it is out of the box. I'm considering washing to try and quiet it down, or simply returning and going with something else. Any suggestions?

The Kuiu Chugach jackets are quiet, but they're not as long as what you seem to be looking for.

Really just need it to cover the top of my hip waders. Looks like that jacket stops just short of that. Your thoughts?

Yes, spent some time looking at the HH stuff, but concerned about roasting in it. I've certainly heard it keeps you dry. Noisy, quiet, somewhere in between?

Think of the sound of falling rain drowning out the sound of your crunchy rain gear.

In my experience, none of the rain gear is quiet. The high tech stuff gets your shoulders wet from rain, the commercial stuff gets you wet from sweat.

Wool and pile are quiet. Thatís about it.

Yeah, probably not long enough to fit that need. Pretty much waist length.
