Default Getting WATER tested for drinking quality, in Alaska....???

What are good options for having water tested from a remote cabin site......??? Is a private company better then sending to a state or city water testing facility.....???

We know that areas of Alaska have naturally toxic levels of things like arsenic. Do you need to ask for them to check for some chemicals, or is that standard procedure ?

A private lab is your only option.

If they never sold residential housing........they would have zero need to know. Not all Real Estate companies sell housing, just saying.

And thanks for the phone number........it is appreciated.

How often do you have your water tested........every two years, every four years, Never Bother even once, Once a year, every ten years.......???

If your water well is in or near areas of high concentrations of "Natural Arsenic" or other "Heavy Toxic Metals" do you test more often, or import water, or have a filtration system........???

It all depends. Depends on whats in your water, and in what concentrations. For instance, if you have arsenic thats near 10ppb (whch s the maximum contaminant level set by EPA), Id probably sample it annually, or whatever makes you confortable. If you have more acute contaminants (high nitrates, total coliforms, e coli etc), effective treatment is more important than sampling frequency.
