Default June Bear Hunt Ideas Unit 13

So I've finally been in Alaska long enough for a resident brown/grizzly tag. I'm wondering about ideas for a spot and stalk hunt. Everyone seems to do their spring bear hunting a bit earlier. All the tracks I saw in one hike pointed down towards the river and no bear sign or anything a bear might eat up high.. I could get a bait station up eventually but mountain hunting appeals to me more because I love hiking anyway. Any places in Unit 13 where bears might still be up in the alpine areas? I have a Jeep and a packraft but no ATV. So I might just hike up and boat out. Worse case I carry a rifle for no good reason on a packraft trip.

There is always a good reason to carry a rifle on a packraft trip... This is Alaska. Whether or not you get to/have to use it are a different topic all together.

Haha I love my rifle but lugging it up and down mountains gets old if I don't have a serious plan to shoot something. Don't worry I have bear spray and my little 44 mag on non hunting trips.
