Well my 17month old daughter got whooping cough. So I had to cancel my first Sheep hunt. Looks like she is starting to improve so hoping the second hunt is still a go. The clients are on alert if she doesnít improve and we have to cancel that one as well. Really hoping not.

Me to man. That being broke down crap sucks. It'll be my last season here in Kodiak, 2yrs till I retire from the guard and no way to stay here so I'm heading back east in the spring to start over.

Got back out on a Sheep hunt with two clients. One for Sheep and one for Grizz. Cousins, one had shot a ram with me last year. Morning of the second day the Sheep tag holder slipped and injured his knee, making mountain hunting no longer an option.
I have all my Sheep guys purchase grizzly tag instead of a sheep locking tag as a precaution. Worked out in this case. We spent three days hunting bears, saw 9 counting three cubs. The grizzly client got lead into a grizzly and we were unable to recover it, the Sheep client two days later got a nice 7í11Ē sow at 250 yards on a less than desirable weather day.
This was a neat situation, a new one on me that I will write more about in the hunting forums.
We celebrated with a little scotch on the rocks.

Ha! Yeah...apparently that's the part I'm getting wrong. Went out this year during the wettest weather I've ever experienced. Didn't find sheep. Didn't shoot sheep. Apparently that first step is important? Might need to hire your services if this keeps up.

Headed back out tomorrow weather permitting. Have two guys from Texas both looking for grizzly. One with a bow and one with a rifle. Then off to Kodiak with the same Guys for two goats!! Quick turn and burn!

just got home for a week on the tundra. Game wasnít moving like normal, we did manage to see 13 grizzly but only one lone bear that was to far and to late in the evening. Had a good trip, pulled out a evening early as the same two clients are headed to Kodiak today where I will meet them to try and fill their goat tags as wel

Kodiak. No place like it. 20 miles, three days, 115(mine, I ainít no spring chicken anymore!),118, and 137lb packs coming out.
    Two billies, both about 9.5Ē
Goats are done for the season now. Two week break then back off to the island for three back to back Deer hunts. Will post updates in between hunts if I have some time. My oldest boy is coming down to help out on one of them so that will be a great experience for him to be involved in.

Nice man, I'm taking the first week of bear season off this year, actually going to put some time in. Then onto archery goat here as well.

The second goat guy missed three goats with his bow. Farthest was 60 yards had one dead nuts at 30 yards. Sight had been messed up turns out.
