Default Welding on a 94 Hewes River Runner Hull?

I have a 4 or 5 inch slit in the bottom of my hull, I was wondering if anyone has used a mig welder on these hulls or should I go with aluminum gas welding? My concern is the aluminum might be too thin to mig weld.....

I'd go talk with Gary at Greatland Welding on Palmer/Wasilla Highway. JMHO
Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Just put a backer bar behind the crack and mig weld it, it would only add a few ounces of weight to the hull.

TIG is way better, and do use a backer plate.

Iíve used John at Lone Pine Fab in Wasilla for a few of my upgrades on my RMX. Welded in receivers for a wench, welded a kicker plate, and built side windows for it. He does great work and is fast.
