    Can anyone please tell me the shelf life of canned salmon?

    I read about shelf life in the instruction manual, It is longer than frozen.

    I've eaten my own canned salmon that was 3 or 4 years old and couldn't tell any difference between it and the current year's canned fish. I'd be interested to hear what the "rule" is, but my rule is if the can is still sealed and the fish looks and smells good, I'll eat it. Those rules apply regardless of the can's age. The quality of the contents is more important to me than the date written on the lid.
