I've used Gelvins a few times for some of my most memorable adventures.
Heart felt thanks for your efforts.

amazing job guys, I've been wanting to float hunt the river for a few years. I wish I had known you'd be doing this, I would have volunteered to come help out.

Good luck booking an air taxi into there. I imagine they are all reserved for that strip already.

Thanks for all your and your friend's work on the strip, Larry. And thanks also because after watching the video I found your caribou hunting YouTube videos which you posted earlier this year on behalf of the Alaska Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. Wonderful series, a shame so few have viewed them. You need some well deserved publicity here. The "Public Land Owner" T-shirt is awesome. Where can I get one?

Also, is your pup any specific breed or just an "American Mix", like the rest of us? Sweet dog and great hunting companion.

Great job, Larry! Don't know where u got the attitude and spirit to pursue the endeavors you do, but man, my hat is off to you. Wish I would have had more of what you display in your life, in my life at your age. Again, congratulations.

    thanks guys, much appreciated.

Chachi is a 4-breed mut with keen wild senses, who eats squirrels, rabbits, and voles...domestic turkey, chickens, and sometime unidentified small mammals i've yet to catch her with before they are unrecognizable...but her interest is anything wild.

it's great when a good plan ends wit great results. Gelvin's still needs work to polish, but functional it is indeed.

I mispoke a few times in that video however:

The Charley River is NOT a Preserve, it's Yukon Charley National Park.

The Charley River is NOT a designated Wilderness Area, though it meets the criteria and has been nominated for such.

Technically Gelvin's strip changed hands from federal to state ownership once the flood line claimed the cabin site and strip (since everything on that site is now below the mean high water mark). But the work was done with earnest care for a wild public lands resource, regardless of which stake holder entrusts the land, IMO.

    LB, out.
