    Default Tour guide on 122.9

Did any of you hear the Eklutna traffic on 122.9 yesterday? Wow! the guy was giving another guy following him the whole history of Eklutna while a whole bunch of 122.9 traffic was flying all over the place. Some one busted in and told Eklutna traffic they were tying up a 100 miles of communication and suggested they take their BS to another channel. Another pilot came on and said "I second that".

What makes people think like that? Shouldn't any pilot with hours know better? Wow!

I can hear them here over Kachemak Bay. Somebody a hundred miles away being a Chatty Cathy over the radio. They talk about everything and anything. Meanwhile the traffic into Seldovia, Port Graham and Nanwalek cannot tell who is in the pattern or coming around the corner.
I am waiting for the instructions on how to bake a cake....

If you fly a full pattern per the FAR/AIM, the radio isn't really necessary.

After I give you your float rating and you are taking off from a lake with wingnuts flying overhead, you might change your opinion regarding the FAR-AIM traffic pattern and non-radio comms safety.

Default commo check say again you were cutout by a mayday

What makes people think like that? Shouldn't any pilot with hours know better? Wow![/QUOTE]

"Commo check on guard (243) say again you were cut out by a mayday." That was long ago common chatter every morning
in RVN as some fools just had to block emergency channel with redundant BS transmissions.

Perhaps these channel hogs are ignorant? My guess is they enjoy hearing their own voice.

    red socks?

Haven't heard that one since the days when the tower used to say..."check gear down, cleared to land".
Somewhere along the way I have lost the ability to act politically correct. If you should find it, please feel free to keep it.

You should hear all the airline jackasses on guard down south. It's a non stop **** show to the point that 121.5 is completely useless.
One guy accidentally keys up com 2 when he meant to make a pax announcement and a chain event of jackassery echoes coast to coast at 35,000ft.
