    Default First hunt with my bow

    It's on the small side, but I'm happy with it. Solid shot from 31 yards out. Love the Matthews Halon 32. It's rock solid.

    You're hooked now. I got a spring black bear with my bow many years ago. Made mukluks from the hide and ate the meat.

    Now for more details :-) What poundage are you pulling? Arrow? Broadhead? Were you in a tree stand of blind? Would love to hear the store!

    Hi Roger,

    This bear was shot from a stand we built close to our bait station. I was using a Matthews Halon 32 at 62lbs. I can't remember the broadhead I used, but I can get that information soon. This little guy showed up at our stand within 30 minute of arriving. Initially I wasn't going to shoot, but he kept eating the dog food we had used for bait and that isn't cheap.
