Default Where to shoot in southern Alaska

I'm visiting Alaska later on this month and would appreciate it if anybody could tell me where some of the best shooting is in that part of the state that won't take more than five or six hours. I'll be in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan each for a full day.

Thumbs up Hank Harmon Rifle Range

The range in Juneau is open from 7 or 8 am until roughly that time in the evening. Good, no-frills range goes out to 400 yds. You can sit under a roof and shoot without getting wet. It's about 25 min. drive from downtown.

There's also an indoor range nearby for pistols and .22 rifles. It's a Fish & Game facility - info on their website.

Right next door to the F&G hunter ed facility is the Juneau Shotgun Club. they've got public trapshooting Wed. evenings and Sun. mornings.
