    Default PWS This Weekend

I am going to be out Saturday. Probably hit Main Bay for some more reds and try and find some Halibut. Shrimping was good last weekend and hope it continues.

Anyway else going to be out that way?

I'm debating between dipnetting the Kenai, and running out of Whittier on Saturday. Depends on the sonar count, but I'm leaning towards dipping.

I should be out the following weekend weather permitting.

Most of the reds in Main Bay were starting to turn, a fresh wave could come in though. Havent fished since monday.

    Default Main Bay

I was in Main bay today, Thursday, and it was unbelievable. There were a few that were turning but most were bright chrome. Four of us limited out in under 3 hours, even with the commercial guys working the outer bay. It was just wave after wave of big schools of fish. Plus the water from Whitter to Main bay was flat calm. It was just a nice day.

    Default Where in Main Bay?

Does everyone just congregate right there up next to the hatchery, seems like theres not much room there for a whole lot of boats?

Wondering what some of you with the bigger boats do?

Planning on putting in tomorrow morning and will spend the day in Main Bay for reds, then will look for Butt's somewhere.

I monitor 71, call sign is Defiance.

Last weekend there were three bigger boats anchored and tied together right in the middle of the little cove. Then they took inflatables to shore. I had one 30' plus boat anchor right up by me, took him a little bit to finally get the boat set right. There were boats everywhere!

What kinda of boat do you have? I'll keep an eye out for ya. I am in a White Hewescraft OceanPro with a Yami 150 on the back.

    Smile Theres an idea......

    Dman,

Never thought about throwing the inflatable in the water and going to shore.

I'll be pulling up sometime tommorow morning in a 22 ft. fiberglass pilothouse boat sporting a 150 Yami on the back. Can't miss it, will have "Defiance" written on its sides. Will be followed behind by my partner's boat, an older 23 ft Bayliner.

Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to limit out.

    See ya out there!!!

Taking a break this weekend to clean things up. Have my daughter coming in next Thursday and will hit it next weekend. I also want to take her out to pony cove for some silvers.

Andy, I'll see you out there. Not sure if I am doing Halibut first or after the Reds.

AkBassking, that is one of my favorite pics with the boat. Got that while we were skinning out a bear and looking back at the boat this spring. Good times!
