    Default bugs

Making my first trip to Alaska on July 24. How bad are the bugs? Do you need a head net?

    Thanks, Ken

that depends on where you are going. There are places where the mosquitoes and other nasty bugs are very thick. If you are planning on doing any bush wacking then you will need some thing. if your out on big water or in anchorage they are not a problem.

    Thumbs up Ben's

Bring a head net and when you get here go to Wal-Mart (Wally World) and buy one can of Ben's Spray (30% deet) and then one bottle of Ben's (100% deet). That will help you.

Default Where we will be fishing.

We will be fishing Kenai and Russian rivers mostly, but do plan on doing some hiking to get away from some of the people. Our these locations noted for being buggy?

    Thanks Again!

Not real buggy, some white legs (little friggin flies) Will be around though...I hate them. Most likely no worse than what you are used to though.
